Andy Lorimer
- Keyboards
Andy
has played the piano since he was five, was born in Jindabyne, Australia
and grew up in Burnaby. At seventeen he quit school and went on the
road with a much older rock band from New West. They were playing
in Chetwynd, BC when Andy met Simon Kaos, a band of just-eighteen
year olds from Ft. St. John, which included Darcy and Brian, who shared
the same musical tastes and youthful enthusiasm, so he jumped ship
and played with Simon Kaos for the next seven years until Lindsay
Mitchell, guitarist for Canadian Supergroup Prism, walked into a bar
in Kelowna where Simon Kaos was playing Spaceship Superstar
and recruited Andy and Darcy for Prisms reformation (along with
Al Harlow and Rocket Norton) in 1988.
Since then, he
has toured extensively with Prism, Toronto, The Head Pins, Zen Archer,
Susie McGregor and The Cheez Bros. In the studio, hes played
on hundreds of recordings, from CDs to karaoke backtracks. He
lived in the Comox Valley for five years, teaches piano and his hobbies
include breathing without thinking, Flash programming, and playing
loud heavy music with old and new friends every Friday night. He spends
most of his time in his studio at home deep in the suburbs of Greater
Vancouver
